Boarding Staff Vacancies


Reporting to the Director of Boarding, we are looking to appoint a full time permanent Resident Boarding House Manager, to work in our Boarding House. This pivotal role is responsible for:

*   The effective management of the Boarding House.
*   The well-being and safety of our Boarders.
*   Assisting with the co-ordination and organisation of Boarding social events and activities.
*   Working closely with students, parents and designated caregivers in conjunction with the College staff.

To be successful in this position you will have:

*   A genuine interest in the Pastoral Care of adolescent girls.
*   Strong organisational skills.
*   Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collegially.
*   Enthusiasm and patience.
*   A team player orientation, with maturity and professionalism.
*   Proven administrative experience and IT skills.
*   Experience in a similar role or with a background in health / education (particularly working with adolescent girls) would be advantageous.
*   Ability to communicate with empathy and understanding with adolescent girls.

The successful applicant would work the following regular hours:

*   Sunday 10.30pm – Monday 9:00am, and Monday – Thursday 2:30 pm to 9:00 am, including to Friday 9:00 am (Term Time plus additional weeks described below)
*   2 days in each term break
*   1 week prior to the beginning of Term 1
*   1 week following the end of Term 4
*   Attendance at Boarding House events as listed in Job Description

We invite applications for this permanent part time position to support the Director of Boarding.  Normal hours of work are 10.00am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday working during the term time plus an additional two weeks to be worked one at the beginning and one at the end of each school year.

This is an extremely varied role which requires a person with a high level of accuracy in all areas, particularly when generating reports, data entry and correspondence.  Advanced IT skills including knowledge and experience of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Google docs are essential.

We are looking for a reliable and flexible person who likes to work in a team environment.  Strong interpersonal skills, an eye for detail, the ability to maintain confidentiality, an excellent command of the English language and professional telephone etiquette are essential attributes to this pivotal and rewarding position.

Boarding House Prep Tutor

A position is available for an experienced teacher to work as a Boarding House Prep Tutor at St Cuthbert’s College.  Reporting to the Director of Boarding the Tutor will supervise Year 9 and 10 Prep.

Hours of work are Monday 7.20pm – 8.50pm and Tuesday – Thursday 6.35pm – 8.35pm (7.5 hours per week) Term time only

The ideal candidate will

·         Be a registered teacher

·         Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·         Be reliable and flexible with strong organisational skills

This role may also suit a Beginner teacher or teacher trainee, seeking additional work.
