Two Golds at Kids Sing

23 August 2013

St Cuthbert’s junior and middle school choirs sang their way to gold at the Kids Sing Gala Concert.

Both our Year 5 and 6 choir and Year 7 and 8 choir performed with great success at the gala in the Auckland Town Hall on August 22.

Our Year 7 and 8 choir, Song Squad, (directed by Megan Flint) was awarded a Gold Medal, Best Full Primary School Choir and Best Performance of the Test Piece (Old Abrahm Brown by Benjamin Britten)

Junior Black Watch Singers (Year 5 and 6, directed by Amelia Giles) were also awarded a Gold Medal and named Best Contributing School Choir.

Teacher Megan Flint says these awards are the result of “perseverance, commitment and loyalty to the ensembles”.

Along with their choir directors and student accompanists (Jenny Cao , Jennifer Li, Francesca Qu and Hayon Lee), the girls have committed long hours to perfecting their performances.

Their hard work has certainly paid off – well done to all our singers!
