The world beyond the classroom is one that inspires curiosity and we foster this in our students with regular learning experiences outside the College gates.
For our littlest girls this can be as simple as climbing nearby Mt St John to study autumn leaves. From Year 3 it involves overnight camps to experience new challenges such as kayaking, zip-lining, tunneling, rock climbing and abseiling. In Year 6 our girls take a trip to Wellington to learn about New Zealand’s government, media and history.
Popular day trips for students include: Auckland Zoo, Arataki Bush Walk, Auckland Museum, Botanical Gardens, Howick Historical Village, Stardome Observatory, MOTAT.
At St Cuthbert’s education beyond the classroom is designed to build deeper knowledge and understanding of topics being studied in the classroom.
