Sport

At St Cuthbert’s we subscribe to the philosophy of a strong mind in a healthy body and seek to instill this positive approach in all our students.

Sport plays an important part. The Middle School years establish key ball skills and hand-eye co-ordination, but more than this they develop teamwork and a healthy approach to physical activity.

Year 7 and 8 girls are exposed to over 20 codes, giving them a chance to try their hand at different sports and find out what they really love. Participation ranges from competitive teams to teams focused on building skill and simply being involved. Athletes also have the opportunity to be developed through our Athlete Pathway Programme, designed to identify and offer additional support and training to aspiring top athletes.

Our girls also have an array of state-of-the-art sports facilities available to them including a hockey turf; tennis, netball, basketball and squash courts; eight lane 25m pool with moveable floor for water polo, fitness centre and grass training field for football.
