Teachers Really are the Difference

The depth of talent amongst the St Cuthbert’s faculty shone through again this year, with two staff guiding students to Top of Subject results in the 2016 NZQA Scholarship exams.

 

Head of Design, Ms Deb Cullinane, achieved an extra special result with two of her students receiving awards: Jess Veronica McDougall was Top of Subject in Design with fellow student Mary Allen in second place. Jess Veronica McDougall also received an Outstanding Scholarship in Painting.

 

Music teacher Dragana Yelavich, guided Music to a 100% pass rate in Scholarship, with Year 12 student Francesca Qu scooping Top of Subject.

Ms Yelavich says, “Teaching at St Cuthbert’s is a joy, particularly when music students are rewarded with results such as these.”

 

College staff again showed their passion for teaching with excellent NCEA results, with 92.6% of students across all levels achieving  NCEA certificates endorsed with Excellence or Merit. 98.4% of students also gained University Entrance.
