Proud to present our donation to Communities Feeding Communities – social good to help those in need

It was our humbling privilege to present the charity, Communities Feeding Communities, with a donation of $25,000 this morning at assembly. The contribution to social good was raised from donations to the College’s Gifting Amazing Annual Fund which has also delivered five initiatives to help students this year. These include sports recording equipment, a new performing arts recording studio, staff scholarships, contribution to the Principal’s fund for hardship, and equipment for the new Digital Co-Labs launching this month.
Communities Feeding Communities provides a place and support for those in financial need to learn more about food and tend their own gardens in Mount Roskill. Anne Overton, Community Relationship Manager, described our donation as “a dream come true” to assist their mission of “bringing people from the local community together to learn more about growing produce to feed themselves, and how to cook nourishing food that is affordable”. The money from the donation will fund a new shelving system and chillers that will allow them to create a new model for food security, a social food pantry.
Our deep thanks to the generous donations received from parents, staff and alumni of the St Cuthbert’s College community.
