Future Problem Solving Nationals

Published November 20, 2023

We have many emerging changemakers at St Cuthbert’s, which is clear from our recent Future Problem Solving National Finals results.

Our Year 11 team (Bonnie Wang, Julia Sung, Isobel Denton and Olivia Wei) and individual competitor, Zara Toes, both gained 1st place in the Global Issues Problem Solving category and have qualified for the International Finals in Indianapolis in June 2024.

Well done also to Year 11 Galathée Gaillard on gaining 3rd place in Global Issues Problem Solving.

Our students also secured 3rd place in both the Junior and Middle Divisions of the Global Issues Problem Solving Team event. Congratulations go to our Junior team of Year 7’s including Annie Wang, Meera Thayalan, Bella Guthrie and Aydene Peter, as well as the Middle Division team of Regina Cao, Eassin Wang, Evee Tan and Violet Liu from Year 10. Well done to all our other students who took part and were all respectful, focused, perseverant and creative.

There were over 150 competitors at the Finals, plus additional Senior teams and individuals sitting Nationals offsite.

It is excellent to see the girls experience such significant recognition for their problem solving skills.

We look forward to seeing the Year 11 team, and Zara Toes shine at the International Finals next year.
