St Cuthbert’s College joyfully celebrated its first Lunar New Year at the Violet Wood Dining Hall, welcoming parents and staff to partake in the festivities. The event featured a captivating lion dance, an enchanting violin performance from year 10 student Sophie Hu and Guzheng performance from Year 9 student Cindy Li.

Beautiful speeches were delivered by Acting Principal Suzanne Winthrop and Chair of the Asian Friendship Group (AFG), Coco Chan. Suzanne highlighted St Cuthbert’s long-standing tradition of providing exceptional education, emphasising the shared goal of the connected community. The establishment of the Gifting Amazing Annual Fund aims to further enhance a St Cuthbert’s education by providing additional initiatives to amplify learning.

Coco shared that AFG will organise a variety of enriching and practical parent activities and seminars every school term, offering a platform for parents to interact and communicate.

The hall buzzed with excitement as Trust Board members and College staff joined in the celebrations, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere. It was a delightful and heartwarming occasion filled with cultural richness, community spirit, and meaningful connections.

The success of this event marks the beginning of a new tradition at St Cuthbert’s College, promising many more joyful celebrations to come.
