2023 Academic Results

Published April 29, 2024

Our 2023 academic results were once again exceptional, and we would like to congratulate our 2023 Year 11-13 students on their outstanding achievements. I would also like to acknowledge the dedication of our wonderful teachers, who are an integral part of supporting every girl to achieve her personal best. These amazing academic results are testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering the very best all-round education for our girls.

University Entrance
2023 has seen 97% of our Year 13 students gain University Entrance, with impressive results across both the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) qualifications.

International Baccalaureate Diploma
Last year, 98% of our students gained their Diploma, with 20% of students gaining a score of 40+ out of a possible score of 45.  Two students gained an exceptional score of 44/45. This places St Cuthbert’s amongst the top schools in the world for this Diploma.

NCEA Results
Please see our NCEA results below.

NZQA Scholarship Awards
As previously advised, our students were awarded a record number of 114 NZQA Scholarships, 19 of which were Outstanding Scholarships.  St Cuthbert’s gained six Top of NZ Subject Awards (Design, Latin, Japanese, Art History, Health and Physical Education, and Chinese), three NZQA Outstanding Scholars’ Awards, and two Premier Scholars’ Awards.

We are delighted with all our students’ results.  For me, I get a huge amount of personal satisfaction in seeing students achieve their potential, whether that be Achieved, Merit or Excellence.  Some of our most rewarding moments as educators are seeing a student who may find a particular subject challenging achieve some success academically, and we often see students move through to Merit and Excellence.

At St Cuthbert’s, we believe that no matter their academic aspirations or interests, developing happy, engaged, and enthusiastic students begins with knowing each girl individually.  Congratulations to all our students and their teachers on such fantastic results and thank you to our parents for all you do to support your daughters and the College.
