Empowering students across digital and technological frontiers to become change makers, problem solvers, and creators of tomorrow.
We believe in preparing our students for a rapidly evolving digital world by providing them with the skills, tools, and mindset needed for them to thrive in their future careers. With the accelerating growth of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, the digital landscape is transforming at an unprecedented pace.

Our five-year strategic approach goes beyond simply using technology in the classroom; we cultivate a digital mindset that encourages innovation, adaptability, and the ethical use of technology. This includes equipping our learners with the critical thinking skills needed to make informed decisions around when and how to make the best use of digital learning tools.
“By integrating the use of digital tools with advanced critical and creative thinking, and ensuring we make decisions anchored in our college values, we prepare our students not just to navigate the AI-enhanced workplaces of tomorrow but to lead and shape them. Our digital learning framework emphasises both technical proficiency and the uniquely human skills that will remain invaluable in an increasingly automated world.”
A Measured Approach
We are measured and deliberate in the decisions made around the use of digital technologies in our teaching and learning. Our approach is informed with neuroscience and cognitive research which highlights that new information is best processed and retained by the learning brain through ample opportunities to read, write, speak, hear and practice. A selective and moderate use of devices allows student learning to be illuminated and celebrated in engaging and innovative ways.

Identifying Emerging Technologies
It is our aim to consistently identify emerging technologies and pedagogical approaches that could enhance learning, positioning our students at the forefront of digital literacy and capability. We want to see our students driving their learning, empowered with the critical thinking skills to determine when and how digital skills best serve their educational journey, selecting devices as one of the many possible resources at their disposal.
Our Digital Learning Ecosystem
Digital Innovation Specialist
Our dedicated Digital Innovation Specialist works across the school from Years 0–13 to drive digital transformation and innovation in teaching and learning across the College with structure and cohesion. This specialist role is developing and implementing a whole school digital strategy aligned with our educational philosophy and school values.
Our specialist works closely with teachers and learners across the College to identify opportunities to integrate cutting-edge technologies into the curriculum, and create a digital learning culture that encourages experimentation and innovation.
Apple Distinguished School
Our school is proud to be recognised as an Apple Distinguished School (ADS) from 2017–2025, a designation that highlights our commitment to innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. St Cuthbert’s is part of an exceptional group of global ADS schools who connect and share the latest research and best practice in the digital learning realm.
Our alignment with the Apple Distinguished network provides us with a structured and shared philosophical framework that promotes the use of devices as learning tools to inspire creativity and innovative excellence.
Dedicated Specialist Technology Spaces
Digital Co Labs
Our innovative Digital CoLabs provide dedicated spaces for students to experiment, create, and develop cutting-edge digital skills across multiple disciplines:
fabLAB
A digital printing and fabrication space where students extend their physical and digital modeling experiences with advanced printers and laser cutters for 3D prototyping.
roboticsLAB
Students apply computational thinking to test and show digital capability, with class sets of tools supporting programming, logic sequencing, and computer science principles.
digitalSTUDIO
Learn to be digitally capable creators and develop digital outcomes. Students can create immersive experiences in VR environments that they have designed.
What Our Community Say
Technology Learning Journey Years 0-13
Alongside the use of innovative tools across different subject areas from Maths to Art as our students develop, our comprehensive Technology curriculum provides a continuous learning path from Junior through to Senior School, building digital competence alongside ethical understanding.
Junior School
In the Junior School, our programme focuses on combining values, digital skills, digital citizenship, and the digital technology curriculum into a cohesive learning experience. This integrated approach ensures students develop both technical abilities and an understanding of responsible digital engagement from their earliest years. In the planning of weekly iExplore sessions, Junior School teachers collaborate to create hands-on learning experiences for the students that reinforce these important concepts.
Years 7–9
As students transition to Years 7–9, they build upon these foundations by exploring a diverse range of technological subjects including computer science, digital creativity, product design, textiles, and food and nutrition. This exploration phase allows students to discover their technological interests while continuing to develop critical problem-solving skills.
Years 10-13
Throughout their journey, our values-based approach ensures technology education develops not just technical competence, but also ethical understanding and creative application of these powerful tools.
