During the Term 2 holidays, we achieved outstanding results in the Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Olympiads. Our students travelled to Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and Budapest to compete against participants from over 100 other countries.
To be selected for their respective Olympiad teams, the students underwent rigorous testing and practical work. Being chosen to represent New Zealand is an incredible achievement in itself. Jifei, Ena and Belle, our students competed against the best in the world in their field. Our students earned Silver and Bronze medals.
St. Cuthbert’s is the only girls school with students in the Biology, Physics, and Chemistry Olympiad teams.
Biology Olympiad: Jifei Shao- Silver medal
Chemistry Olympiad: Ena Yin- Bronze medal
Physics Olympiad: Belle Yin – Bronze medal
Also a big congratulations to Dawn Chen who for the second time was part of the NZ Maths Olympiad. The NZ team won bronze at the International Olympiad in the UK.
