We are delighted to share our outstanding 2025 academic results across NCEA, the International Baccalaureate Diploma, and NZQA Scholarships. These results are a testament to our students’ dedication, the strength of our teaching staff, and the whole-school culture we nurture together.
Congratulations to Olivia Wei who gained a perfect score of 45 in the IB diploma, and to Siobhan Murphy and Zaya Walker who both gained a score of 44.
Our NZQA Scholarships place St Cuthbert’s as once again the top performing school in New Zealand on a per capita basis. We are especially proud of our 2025 NCEA Dux, Ava Dilly, who received one of only 13 Premier Scholarships nationally, securing nine scholarships in total, including four Outstanding Scholarships. Congratulations too to Bonnie Wang, Rose Mullins, Eassin Wang, Cerisa Gu, Zilin Yuan, Jessica Wu, Helena Wong, and Jiayi Li who join Ava Dilly on the St Cuthbert’s Honours Board, having secured three or more scholarships each.
These fantastic results give our students choices in their future study and pathways, whether at leading universities in New Zealand or top institutions across Australia, Asia, the UK, and USA.
What underpins our approach is our belief in every student’s potential and our commitment to supporting each girl to achieve her personal best, recognising that success looks different for every girl. We are equally proud of the student who moves from Not Achieved to an Achieved or an Achieved to a Merit, as we are of those achieving at the very top.
Academic achievement doesn’t happen in isolation. At Kahunui, our remote second campus, every Year 10 student spends a month completely off the grid – challenged, stretched, and supported at a pivotal stage of their development. That hard-won self-belief and confidence carries them into their qualification years ready to take risks and try new things. We also strongly encourage involvement in sport, the performing arts, and clubs and activities from the very youngest age. These experiences don’t sit apart from academic success, they help grow happy, well-rounded young women who are supported to strive for their personal best.
