Last Friday the Year 1 students had a wonderful opportunity to explore the College Archives and discover the rich history of our school.
The children were fascinated to compare items from 100 years ago with what they know today. Old stationery and classroom tools looked very different from the ones used in modern lessons, sparking plenty of curiosity and conversation. The students also got to try sitting at one of the original wooden desks and quickly agreed it was far less comfortable than the chairs and tables they enjoy in their classrooms.
Looking at vintage uniforms was another highlight of the visit. The students noticed how much has changed over the decades, deciding that today’s uniforms are not only smarter but far more practical and comfortable than those worn by students of the past.
It was a memorable morning of discovery, giving our youngest learners a real sense of the school’s long and proud history and perhaps a newfound appreciation for modern classroom comforts!
